| The men's title, for the second
consecutive year, went to David Chomet of Berkley. (Dave
was runner-up in 1995.) During the year, he set personal
records of 52:28 at the Crim 10 Mile, 2:31:06 at
the Marathon, and 1:10.02 at the West
Bloomfield Half Marathon- a race that he won. He
also took top honors at the Oak-Apple 10K and Just
Zoo It! 5K. |

This year's female champ was Jenny
Eschbacher of St. Clair Shores. Jenny didn't race as
often as she would have like because of her medical
studies; however, she won all of the three Big Boy
Races and was the Big Boy Series Champion
for the second year in a row. She also won races at Somerset,
Cottage Hospital, and The Turkey Trot. |
