The Motor City Striders

Summer Road Racing Series

This year, the Motor City Striders celebrate the 42nd year of our Summer Road Race Series and the 22nd in Huntington Woods.  The series originated in the early 1960's on scenic Belle Isle.  To celebrate this special occasion, all entrants in each race will receive a "new" classic T-shirt of their choice from over 100 past Strider events.  Then, be sure to join us for our Annual Picnic after the 4 mile race.  Bring the entire family for food, fun, and children's races with prizes for all.  
 

WHEN:
Thursday June 17th 6:30 p.m. 1 and 2 Miles
Thursday June 24th 6:30 p.m. 1 and 3 Miles
Thursday July 8th 6:30 p.m. 1 and 4 Miles
 

WHERE:

Huntington Woods Parks and Recreation Department, Scotia and Hart (Scotia is 1/2 mile east of Coolidge, and Hart is 1/4 mile south of 11 Mile Road.
 

REGISTRATION:
Registration is race day only, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Recreation Building. You must register to participate. Entry fee is $10.00 for each of the 2, 3, and 4 mile events; $3.00 for each mile event.  Race entry includes a T-shirt.

SPECIAL AWARDS:
A championship Trophy will be awarded to the top male and the top female finisher based on performance in all three events.

Additional awards will be presented to the male and female finisher with the fastest time of the series in the following age groups: 17 and under, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 -69, and 70 and over.
